Sula is a Chartered Psychologist & CBT therapist, registered with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC), the British Psychological Society (BPS), and the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). Sula currently works in the NHS as a High Intensity CBT therapist.
Sula has a PhD in Psychological Medicine, which focused on the therapeutic mechanisms of CBT in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Sula’s PhD thesis was based on data from the largest randomised controlled trial of CBT for IBS to date, and the results are published in the British Medical Journal & The Lancet Gastroenterology & Hepatology. Sula is involved in research currently involving women’s health & the application of psychosocial support to improve symptoms & quality of life.
